Today, with the help of my daughter Grace and son William, I delivered 252 porcelain mugs to the faculty and staff of Wellesley High School. William graduation this spring, marking our family’s 11th year at this wonderful school. To honor the many adults who work there, and have had a challenging time due to the pandemic, I wanted to give them something handmade, from the heart.
A team of custodians and Assistant to the Principal and coordinator extraordinaire Diane Zinck, met us with carts and good cheer. We made quick work of getting the gift bags into the cafeteria, in alphabetical order, ready for pick up when staff returns in a few weeks.
It was a good day.

Class emphasizes experimentation, taking risks, and the pursuit of individual style. Instructor demos will be followed by personalized instruction for each student. Some experience preferred. Some, but not all, work may be bisque fired.

This was a fun day of filming for Intuit’s “Own It” series on Facebook. So far there are nine short videos, each about a minute or two of me working in my studio.
